‘They’re not good supporters’: Incensed Eddie Jones clashes with All Blacks fans
Emotions were clearly running high for Australia head coach Eddie Jones on Saturday after his side were pipped by the All Blacks in the closing stages at the Forstyh Barr Stadium in Dunedin.
The Wallabies looked like they were on the verge of a huge win in the Bledisloe Cup in what would have been Jones’ first win of his tenure. It was not to be though, as they fell 23-20.
To make matters worse for the Australian, a group of All Blacks fans clearly did something to antagonise Jones. While it is not clear what was said, he was clearly not happy when talking to Jeff Wilson after the match.
“That’s Bledisloe Cup rugby, you’ve got to go to the last minute of the game,” Jones said. “I thought we played exceptionally well the first 40 minutes, put ourselves in a position to win a game but these clowns over here, I’m going to go and have a chat to them. Because they’re not good supporters, mate, and they should behave a bit better than that, which is quite disrespectful. It’s disappointing, because Dunedin’s a good rugby city and you shouldn’t have clowns like that behaving like that.”

Despite the loss, Jones would have learnt a lot about his players from that performance, which could have gone a long way to helping him decide his World Cup squad.
