Ugo Monye has just called out Boris Johnson
Former England star Ugo Monye has just called out Boris Johnson over crowds not returning to rugby matches.
Many rugby fans have been frustrated around the U.K. as the government recently announced that that they would be pausing a planned return to rugby for many fans in Britain.
This has led to many rugby stars Such as Danny Care and Mike Brown calling out the sports ministers for doing this despite practice attempts for this performing well.
No crowds OUTSIDE in large stadiums but no problem being INSIDE in a cinema etc. Where’s the logic?! 🤯 https://t.co/szYzmbtEEz

Former England and Harlequins rugby player Ugo Monye today added his voice to the argument, directly calling out Boris Johnson in his tweet.
Hi @BorisJohnson let’s talk ruggers. The 1st pic was our reality, you supporting the national team & our game. The second is the reality our sport is facing. Our sport like many others needs fans to survive 🙏🏾 WE NEED FANS. There’ll be no prawn sarnies for you & no sport for us.

Many pundits have warned that rugby in Britain and Ireland is at risk of collapsing if crowds are not allowed back in. The sport has dearly missed the cash Injection that crowds would bring in week on week.
Recently Irish ministers warned that pro rugby in Ireland could be gone by 2022 if there was no live crowds for another 6 months.
Currently, there appears to be no plans for rugby fans to return properly to stadiums before March 2021. This isn’t good for sports fans at all.
