England prop shows freakish strength in the gym just in time to destroy French scrum
Fresh from one of the strongest scrummaging performances England have put in in recent years on Saturday against Ireland at Twickenham, tighthead Will Stuart provided a glimpse as to why his scrum came out on top in round four of the Six Nations.
The Bath man came on in the first half as a head injury replacement for Kyle Sinckler and played on through the rest of the match, but he ensured that England did not take their foot off the gas at scrum time.
England have now shared a video of his exploits at the gym, and it is no surprise that he put in such a dominant scruammaging performance. Stuart was recorded planking for 40 seconds on one elbow and one foot with the little weight of 50 kgs on his back. Already weighing 130 kgs, that made 180 kgs on weight he was planking on just one elbow and foot.
Stuart has been included in England’s 28-man squad that travelled to Paris this week to try and derail France’s Grand Slam bid, and will need to put in another massive performance in the scrum.
